Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.
I just bought a down hill land in Northdene Queensburgh I just want to build a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 garage open plan kitchen & lounge.
I am signing up for my plot today. I want to build 4 flats each with a shower, small kitchenette, lounge area & 1 bedroom.
House is currently a single storey house with a tiled roof. I want to remove the existing roof & turn the house into a double storey. Relocate the bedrooms elsewhere (4 bedrooms)
Break the kitchen walls, and bathroom walls. Extend double door garage into a three car door garage & dinning room. Build a guest bedroom on top the garage
Extending the living, kitchen & bedrooms. Add an en-suite to the main bedroom, & remodelling the existing bathroom.
I want to add a small Jacuzzi room with wooden deck, however it is not on the approved plan.
