I now live in an old farm house in which the carpets are very old and very stinky. I have a budget. I got a quote for vinyl flooring with skirting amd sealant and self-leveling, but it's too far above my budget. I'm willing to do laminate and see what's the best quote I can get. I wanted sealant because there seems to be water coming in, but we've sealed the roof and the courtyards where there's water build up during rain.

We want to break down a wall in our current lounge and extend it to make a new lounge (old lounge will become dining area) This will be downstairs and will lead onto a stoep. Upstairs would include a main bedroom, bathroom and small study and balcony. Stairs would run from the new lounge area upwards.
