Is it cheaper to build or buy a house in South Africa?
The short answer is that it is cheaper to buy an existing house in South Africa but every year less so.
I have a 2 bedroom sectional title house, with kitchen, lounge and bathroom . I am adding a master bedroom with another bathroom. A lounge, enclosed entertainment area with built-in braai, skylight. Also adding a scullery new bathroom, and 3rd bedroom moving to the back. Adding a storage in the carport.

Each units must hv its own db .
I would like to build residential units of bachelor flats, one bedroom and two bedrooms in Bethanie for the miners and low-to-medium earning workers around there. Total units should be 16 on the property purchased. Units must include basic facility needs such as a toilet/bathroom in each. The least amount of space should be used to construct each unit, with parking and a lapa/play area facility on the premises.

I have the plans but they still need to be submitted to council. I have recently bought a plot in De Rust, where I would like to build a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home. Around sqm.
