Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.
I was not happy with him and I would not recommend him to anyone. He does not call a client and give any update/feedback, he just keeps quiet. He must just retire!
This was a very impatient and demanding client - they changed the original brief a few times. 50+ emails and 40+ Whatsapp messages to this client is NOT keeping quiet or NOT giving feedback either. They threatened to sue me because the City Council would not allow them to build a pool in the road reserve which crossed their plot, shows how little they know about the By Laws.

I wish for this apartments building to be open space minimalist and each room to have as much natural lighting as possible, and I would like for the interior to have lots of black and the outdoor to have a bit of greenery and a chilling space since I'm targeting all sorts of people from students to employees with this apartments and I'd love for it to cater for everyone
Good Afternoon 1. I need to add an en-suite full bathroom to one of the bedrooms downstairs 2. Convert an Open Patio upstairs to a bedroom with full en-suite 3. Add on Maids quarters with shower/Toilet and kitchenette 4. Add a boundary wall with a gate I therefore need the plans to be drawn and updated with the above and get quotes for the work to be done. This is a house am buying and want to get all the pre-work concluded so the actual repairs can start as soon as the house is registered I do have access to the house on arrangement
I already have an idea of what i want, i have sketched it on paper, i just need a building plan to hand to the municipality. There are still some kinks to be sorted out. The idea of the building is to provide a double-story low-income home that can be rented out for about R-R. I am still unsure of whether I should use wood to complete the second story or also bricks. It is a large stand and once i have everything done i will build about 6 of these units.

We have two houses. The one we bought as is in very old area, building restrictions upliftments needed due to carport and flatlet that exceed the size allowed etc. Currently renting out the house The other house - minor changes....rest up to date. We occupy this house. Pool was added, washing room and two inside walls 'kicked' out.
We have just purchased a plot just outside Stellenbosch in the Banhoek Valley, Johannesdal (adjacent to Mentoor Mountain Estate). Hi Could you please send us a quote for the below: Please see house plans attached Please note the porch ( little roof at front door) on the front of the house we never built and also not the bay window in the one bedroom. Our plan is to add a pool in the backyard and we would also like to add a living room for our kids, there bedrooms are bedroom 1 and guestroom. They each have their own bathroom that we thought we could move, as its not a nice spot for the bathrooms. We would also like to modernize the outside of our house, the front, and the back, the house needs to be repainted. My husband is worried about the levelling of the pool, also we stay on a farm so our house plans are not at the town council, I don’t even think it exist in Ladismith as our Municipality is out of action.
