Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.
I have a plot in the Overberg in Botrivier. I have sold my business and would like to move there in the early part of next year. I would like to build a 1.5 bedroomed home. I need plans drawn up and the assistance to take this for Municipal approval. I am vascillating between utilizing Nutec or brick and I am not sure which route to go with? My main concern is a very well insulated but sunny home that is reasonably stylish and cottagey and quaint but not overpriced. I have quite a lot of metal in my body and feel the cold enormously.

we need to extend a bedroom, add en-suite and walk in wadrobe - main bedroom
3 bedroomed , scullery, open plan kitchen, dining and lounge, closed living room with fireplace. First floor: 1. Main Bedroom with en suite ( bath, shower, basin & toilet)and walk room cupboards. 2.
