I found Denver and Morne both serious when discussing the project prior to quoting, and engaging/approachable about any query I raised before and during the work. At no point did they rush the work or cut corners. The finished job looks really good. I got five quotes in all: they were the most expensive, and significantly so relative to the next highest quote. I would have liked to pay less, but chose them as I felt they understood the work required and would not leave me with worries about quality.

Addition to existing studio / room in the roof. What is required is brickwork, roof, floor (pine), no sanding and painting, and the windows and door (Aluminium): Engineering drawing for pinning the roof against the walls. No plastering inside / only outside. No plumbing / no electricity / no bathroom / no balcony. Thats it, unless I prefer email contact for the quotes.
Renovation/remodel
We are moving into a rented house, which we may decide to buy and renovate later. Initially we would like a quote for doing some restoration/repair work and a thorough repainting of the main downstairs rooms as well as the 3 bedrooms upstairs - we will have occupancy from 1st of Feb but will be allowed access before that to complete the work. If the work is good quality, you would be considered for the larger renovation once the property is purchased. Thanks,

I would like to remove a 4m long wall separating the kitchen and dining room area to create a more open plan house. I suspect I will need to put some sort of supporting beam at the top to support the roof structure. I live in a semi-detached house in the woosdtock area, the house is >60 years old and has high ceilings. I don't know where I would need to start to get approval for the change and plans to ensure I don't break anything. This is where I would like the most help. Finding a contractor thereafter is not something I'm worried about.
