I was unsure about the type of driveway gate I needed. Mr. Bekker advised me to get sliding driveway gates with an automated opening system which I can also remotely control from 15 meters away. My gates are super looking and very practical. The motor is silent and there are no disturbing sounds when the gate is opening. I would probably not be able to find such a great contractor on my own. The driveway gate should be a little wider than your driveway entrance. Use a tape measure, and measure your driveway. Use a smaller single gate for a straight driveway. Use a wider double gate if you have curves on your driveway.

Sliding driveway gate ; L : 6.6 m , H 2.1 m . with gate motor. Rust treated and painted black. Plain style vertical rods with maybe a few horizontal beams to improve strength. Will need to do some cutting into cement paving to get installation level. Will also require anti lifting, proximity eye [ beam] and some wiring to allow for remote opening of gate application.
I have old metal gates that my late dad put in years ago. I had palisades put in to heighten the walls, to make the property more secure. Now I need the gates heightened by joining them to a metal base that must be made. I will accept advice on best method and materials to use. I also want to convert these gates from swing gates to folding sliding gates placed onto a metal rail. I attach a rough schematic. I attach pictures taken of the palisade installation. I would like a black metal frame gate with fibre cement panels that go vertically that are also black. Attached is an image for the gate. Note that you cannot see through the gate and that is how I would like it. The gate needs to be 3.5 meters wide and 2 metres tall. I would like the gate to come with all the security measures needed to make sure someone does not try break in.
My wooden garden gate has perished and has always been too heavy for its frame. It is in direct sunlight all day and exposed to rain so I need advice on material. I think the frame is still ok, but may need to be reinforced into the wall. The dims of the gate itself are 80cm x cm. Photos attached. I can use the existing lock but the slot would need to be cut out. I can use the existing handles. The colour is a dark brown according to estate colours. It does not need to be completely solid; it can be slotted. I can stain it providing I am given advice as to which primer and stain should be used, dependant on material of the gate.
