Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.
We are purchasing an existing m² house and we will add m² which includes 3 additional bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The design style is modern farmhouse. The existing building will be updated as well to follow the design style which will include changing the existing flat roof to a peak roof. The buildings will sit on a m² stand (W 34m x L 94m )
Want to extend a bedroom to make it bigger. Maybe add an ensuite as well. Its reservoir hills so the landscape is not level. Bedroom high level on front side and low level on one side. On front side we would add glass sliding doors and add a way for entrance into the room. Maybe stairs on balcony with stairs

I would like to specify that the house us in a slightly steep area. I intend to change the existing garage to two bedrooms with a bathroom. I want to build a new garage in the front with a carport attached to it In square metres I can't tell exactly but I intend to change the face of the house. I want a new garage at the front of the house with a carport attached to it. The old garage, I intend to change it to be a two roomed flat with a bathroom and small living area. I don't know whether this will fall in the quote I would like to change the shape of stairs from going downwards to the gate and that the stairs come from sideways
Buying a property and wanting to convert to an office with a large boardroom or hall and to possibly add a few rooms to use as a guesthouse or backpacker. At the moment it is just a msq stand with a building in one corner and a second building on the side, I need ideas on how best to explore and maximize the land and with the additions that we have in mind. Want to replace an existing wooden wendy house (which has water and sewage systems) and replace it with a 3 room out building. We have done some alterations to our house and we thought that the person who did our plans back then submitted everything. We have now sold the house and the new owner is looking for the plans, only to find out that the plans were never even submitted for the extensions.
