Have drips and drabs of approved plans. Would like to have everything on one council approved plan. Lapa and storeroom might have to be demolished if it cant be legally classified as outbuildings. Would like sensible suggestions on things to improve e.g. making my hatchback garage a normal length garage, adding an outside braai place, changing the street facin boundary wall so that its not triangular with hiding places for potential criminals, updating the windows etc. Potentially add staff quarters on top of garage.

I am Canadian. I spend six months of the year in the Western Cape. I have a total rental income from three tenants in Muizenberg of R .80 per annum. I pay taxes separately on my Canadian income. I had registered with SARS and paid one year of taxes. Then my accountant was quite ill and got behind, and then when I was overseas he died and I didn't find out until I returned. He has left me two years behind on filing a return. Normally this would be a simple job, every year, now that Sotheby's Lew Geffen manages the properties. However, the two years that I am behind were a chaos of builders, roofers, and plumbers, as well as clumsy attempts by me to rent rooms and flats to individuals (more than one disappeared into the night). A deck sits over my bedroom. The deck has a water feature and has planter trenches built into the low perimeter wall of the deck. There are signs of damp in the ceiling of the bedroom. I suspect the water feature and planter trenches are the source of the damp. I want to remove the water feature and trenches, and ensure that those areas are waterproof.
