Initially, he was enthusiastic to get started with the work and seemed like a genuine person that we were happy to do business with but as time went on and we started asking questions about the building efforts and completion, the enthusiasm had left the building.
Deadline was not met. Work was done in a start, stop, start something else fashion which meant incomplete tasks. Protocols weren't followed by ensuring roof engineer signed off before ceiling was put up and building inspector was not notified to check before walls were plastered. Payments were supposed to be based on progress, and after paying 95% of the money, he was still looking for more money even though final payment was to be due on completion of work. Time management skills were lacking as he was unable to provide a basic plan of what efforts / tasks would be done, as he said we would hold him to it. On discussing final payment on completion of work, his feedback was that we are holding the money as a bargaining chip and that he has walked away from projects for more than what was still outstanding. He lacked professionalism and was not customer centric. The workspace was constantly in a mess, and was only cleaned when he needed to ask for more money. When we asked about the plastering of the bands on exterior of windows, like our existing house - His response was that it was not part of the quote. The same happened with treating of the timber facial boards and wall skimming. Plaster work was incomplete in certain areas, ceiling boards in one space was concave. The foundation in the space that was built, is not level. Electrical work was left at 50% completed. Building team made use of our personal tools like wheelbarrow and hose pipes, that are now broken and need to be replaced. We have damage to our existing ceiling as when it was raining, it was leaking as a result of the building teams negligence by not ensuring that the roofing was covered correctly in order to avoid this. Part of our existing facial boards and gutters are broken as a result of the building team not ensuring they were tied down correctly after they removed one of the facial boards. The door that was installed has a visible hole in it that happened during the installation and they were going to fix it after the fact, which didn't sit well with me. Again, damages we need to have fixed and now pay for. The sliding door that was installed was not secured properly and the locking mechanism is an issue that we also need to have sorted. Time keeping and team size was an issue also. When we asked about the skirting, his response was that he forgot about it. The list goes on, however we have since formally terminated the contract and we are now in the process of finding another builder to assist with completion of the work which means spending extra money and that we are at risk of now not having building works finished before Christmas because of the fixes and completion work that needs to be done. Agreement was that payments would be based on progress, and initially every second week we were asked to pay money and then sometimes weekly, until we started asking questions and then for a while things would seem to move on and then again go-slow. Last message we received from builder was that as we didn't pay more of the money they asked for, they could not proceed without materials, yet there are still so many things that they could have completed in the interim. Noting that 4days prior, we had made a payment of R10000, so what was done with that money? When we tried to call him he did not answer our calls. This has not been a good experience at all.

Good day, I trust you are well, Please refer to the attached. Can you please send me one quote on standard glass and one quote on standard double glazing. The Aluminum should be matte charcoal aluminum and where I indicated on the sheet, there should be burglar bar added. Please note that there have been some changes made to the plan. The correct product is indicated on the spread sheet. (you can only refer to the list when doing the quotes). D03 – is a door with no windows. My daughter has now moved into the upstairs room and we need to get the wooden flooring fixed or replaced as it is making quite a noise. The dimensions of the room is roundabout 8x6.

Please can you provide quote for Wooden Laminated Flooring. Underfloor is provided already. The flooring is clip on and does not need glue. Also provide quote for 1 level of screed to cover heated under floor. Include material/cement. Use the attached strength. 54 sqm area needs flooring. 19 running meters for skating.
I am not completely sure about the square meters of the property, I am open to having someone come out to measure properly in order to give the most accurate quote. We are looking for a flooring option that is a bit "warmer" than tile because our property is by the river and we are freezing. Please contact me via email or Whatsapp then we can schedule a call.
Hi We have some old Astro that is in storage that we would like to install in our school gym facility. The floor space is roughly 6m wide and 25m in length. We have an old carpet there currently that would need to be ripped out and replaced with the turf. We possibly would require a general cleaning of the turf if it is something you are able to provide. Please could you let me know
40 years ago we built a new office block but using wooden bay windows from an old Parktown mining magnate's house which was being demolished. At the time we restored the wood and repaired all the lead glass windows, however, over the years, the treatment we have been using has obviously not been any good and they are now in desperate need of repair or replacement. Please call me to discuss the problem and give us idea on the practicality of repairing or replacing these windows and possible costs. This involves a bay window frame, 8 windows and 8 fanlights. Thank you
I have a room 4,2m x 4,2m that needs a replacement wooden floor. Plus minus 18 Sqr meters. I also need a quote on the support beams. There were 9 support beams 4,4 m or 18 2,2m 40mm x mm in the floor. As well as quotes for skirting boards. 4 x 4,2m I am in Richmond KZN so please give a quote for delivery as well. I will be installing the floor as I have been a keen woodworker DIY guy for many years. What do you recommend as the most cost effective flooring solution?
I have a degrees sea view on my patio and I do not want to block the ocean views at all. I would therefore like folding windows in the front of the patio and sliding windows on the side. I am not sure exactly how many windows I will need as I am not sure about the sizes of the windows - I would need someone to advise me on that.
