Is it cheaper to build or buy a house in South Africa?
The short answer is that it is cheaper to buy an existing house in South Africa but every year less so.
IRB waterproofing quote needed. Greetings to whom it may concern, I have a house with part of the roof being flat. The problem initially was the gutter connectors are to small for a large amount of water. Subsequently outlet avenues were made available as to alleviate the water buildup. I have had work done on the roof and recently had an assessor from outsurence asses the roof His recommendation is that a thorough waterproofing needs to be done as the waterproofing done last year is flaking and allowing some water to seep through. This needs to be sorted out and would request an assessment and quote in this regards.
Please tell me , do you also do ground work and construction of training centres and workshops ? For example we want to put up 1 qty x 50 meter x 50 meter x 6 meter high and 1 x 50 meter x 50 meter x 8 meter high. both of these 2 buildings will be about 6 meter apart but still next to each other .. With that I'm looking for deasant ground work , cement slabs inside for flooring at the highest standard as we want to use the 8 meter high shop / training centre with overhead cranes and heavy loads. The 6 meter will only be training centre with class rooms. with that all plumbing work and electrical work to be included... Will you be able to estimate quote on that ?
The thatched roofing will be used on a lodge with gumpole structure. The size on plan = 78m2 On a slope of 45 degrees = m2 I'm looking for a square meter rate that will be applicable for other units as well. Rate should include the thatch covering, the gumpole roofing structure as well as the gumpole columns.
Garage roof is rusted through in spots, leading to water leaking through, damaging garage wall and door (see pics). Part or all of the garage roof may need replacement. Original roof is galvanised mild steel. Floor size of garage is 32m2, so roof is slightly larger than that. Roof is only slightly sloped (see pic).

I haver an existing IBR roof with the following issues: Flashing removed at parapet joining at all resulting in leaks all over the roof. Pitch is too low. Wood used is and not . Wood is rotten at some places. Beam in lounge is not according to plan leading to sagging. IBR sheets is still the old solid IBR and can be taken off and put back. Could you please quote me on the attached plans for a house at 36 Hillary rd in Mountain Homes. I would like to know which would you recommend, a Chromadek or tiled roof. Could you give me a costing for both, and if you would include the cost of putting either up.
